How much does it cost?

The price is agreed at your home before I start. Plan around CHF 80 for a diagnosis plus one hour of labour. No hidden fees, no minimum bundled costs.

Is the trip charged separately?

For the main neighbourhoods of the City of Geneva, travel is included in the flat rate. For more remote communes (Versoix, Veyrier, etc.) a travel surcharge is announced on the phone before the visit.

Do you give a quote before starting?

Yes, always. After a free 15-20 minute on-site diagnosis, I give you a flat rate or an hourly estimate that you have to accept before I start the actual repair.

How fast can you come?

In most central Geneva neighbourhoods I am at your home in under an hour. For farther communes, I give you a precise arrival time on the phone.

How long does a typical visit last?

Most home interventions last between 1 and 2 hours. A full Windows or macOS reinstall usually takes 2 to 3 hours, especially if your data needs to be backed up and restored.

Do I have to stay during the whole intervention?

No, you do not have to stay on site the whole time. Your presence is only required at the start (for diagnosis and quote approval) and at the end (handover and payment). Many clients carry on with their day while I work.

How does an intervention work?

1. You call and describe the problem. 2. I give you a slot in the day and a first diagnosis. 3. I arrive at your home, confirm the issue and quote the price. 4. I do the repair in front of you. 5. You test the result before paying.

Which computer brands do you support?

All mainstream brands: Apple (iMac, MacBook, Mac mini), Lenovo, HP, Dell, Asus, Acer, MSI, Microsoft Surface, Huawei, Samsung. I work on Windows 10/11, macOS and Linux for advanced users.

Can you recover data from a broken hard drive?

Yes for logical failures (corrupted system, lost partition, accidental deletion, ransomware): the diagnosis is free. For heavy mechanical failures (broken read heads, damaged platters), I refer you to a specialised Swiss clean-room lab — I don't charge anything in that case.

Do you install Windows 11?

Yes. I first check that your hardware is compatible (CPU, TPM 2.0, minimum 4 GB RAM) then run a clean install or migrate from Windows 10. Your existing Windows licence is usually carried over automatically.

Do you work with small businesses too?

Yes — I regularly support SMEs, medical practices, law firms and freelancers in Geneva. For recurring needs I offer a monthly retainer or a simple maintenance contract — call me to discuss.

My computer is very slow — can you speed it up?

In 90% of cases, yes. Switching to an SSD, a full software clean-up, adding RAM or a clean OS reinstall make a 5-8-year-old machine usable again. I tell you on the phone whether your case is eligible.

What if you can't fix my issue?

If after diagnosis I cannot fix your machine, you only pay for the visit and diagnosis. Parts and labour are only billed if the repair completes.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Every intervention happens at your home, in front of you. No data leaves your premises. If an external backup is needed, it goes on your own drive.

Do you offer a guarantee after the repair?

Yes. If the same issue comes back within 30 days of a paid repair, I come back free of charge to fix it. The guarantee does not cover a new issue or user mistake, but it does cover an incomplete repair.
